Buses into Port Perry

Durham Region Transit route 905C serves Port Perry, with buses toward Uxbridge and toward Oshawa and Whitby Station. For riders coming from Oshawa or Whitby Station, 905C is the route to check. In town, buses use the terminal stop named "Curts Eastbound @ Port Perry Terminal". That is the name to look for on a printed schedule or a route map.

Route 618 is newer. It began on May 5, 2025 as a pilot, linking Port Perry with Sunderland, Cannington and Beaverton. Buses run on weekdays during the day, one every 90 minutes. There is no evening service and nothing on Saturday or Sunday. A visitor using it plans the day around the timetable, not the other way round.

Reaching Scugog Island

No scheduled bus route reaches Scugog Island, and no shuttle serves Great Blue Heron Casino & Hotel. The operator's Casino Shuttle goes only to Toronto and Pickering. For the stretch from Port Perry to the island, DRT On Demand is the transit service to ask about. It operates in rural Durham Region from 6:00 to 24:00 on weekdays and 7:00 to 21:00 on weekends. Whether it covers the casino's address should be confirmed with DRT before the day out.

Parking at the casino is free and on site, and all entrances are open and accessible. The address for a map is 21777 Island Road, Port Perry, ON L9L 1B6.

How far from Toronto

Port Perry lies 61.3 km from Toronto City Hall in a straight line. That is a distance drawn across the map, not one measured along a road. It does not translate into a travel time, by bus or by car. For a day at the lake, the timetable and the road decide the length of the trip.
